Things that I should be ashamed of:-

I have been thinking. Well that’s what I do when I am doing nothing else (and its most of the time really).

What are the things that I am really ashamed of having done and will never do again?

Cheat in my exams…well I am not all that ashamed of it in the first place…so the second part does not arise.

The lies I told to my parents/family? Hey get real…are you joking….consider the lies I did not tell. Ashamed, no way!

Picking on those weaker than me? Offcourse not, that’s what every one does. In History books they call it war.

Infidelity, well I have not yet got the opportunity and when I do, believe me that will be a proud moment for me.

Being dishonest? Now that’s a tough one….but considering that we have already got lies and infidelity out of the way… that takes away most of the dishonesty part with it, does it not? I think it does.

This confessional isn’t working; let’s try to turn it around (it is at this point that the lawyer will dramatically turn to the Judge and say, “Mi-lord, please note my client’s sincerity”).

I have smoked and drank at an early age. Well, considering the age limit has been coming down every few years, maybe I was just a little ahead of my time (and history judges such people very kindly).

I have beaten up others. But then, I have got beaten up a lot more, so it should cancel itself out and there’s no reason for me to be ashamed of it.

So, I guess I can proudly stand up and say that I have done nothing that I am ashamed of, or will not do it again.

But hang on…. I do not need such a lengthy write up….let see, what are the things I cannot tell my mom or my child,… do I see the list forming....unfortunately yes…and its growing.

Let’s get up and do something for a change. This thinking stuff puts me to shame.

Five signs that you are growing old!!

I vividly remember a conversation I had with one of my long time friends when I was 27 years old. Me -“Imagine J, it seems like we were in school in just a few years back, and now we are 27” J – “True. Somehow 27 does not seem so old, but 30….man that will really mean death!!” Well, much water has flown since that conversation….30 has come and gone and it has not yet been a disaster. Yet, the other day when I spent sometime in café Coffee Day with some colleagues from a former employer, I could not but feel old looking at the milieu around me. So here’s a truly depressing game you may want to play….. list 5 things that you have noticed of late that tells you that you are growing old ….do not mention your age, it is for the reader to guess , within a range of 5 years ( eg : 15-20, 21-25, 26-30 years etc). No matter which age range you are in, the truth is, you are growing older….can you guess my age from the list below:- My top five: 1. You go to café Coffee Day and feel out of plac...

Amir Khan at IIM - Bangalore

A colleague of mine informed me that Aamir Khan was playing badminton at IIM(B) . Big deal!!! But then I thought, it is less than a couple of minute's drive away...and let's face it...Amir Khan is a bigdeal!! I have been reading in the newspapers that the Super Star and some of the cast and crew of Three Idiots were camping at IIM(B). So here was my chance. I grabbed my camera and started off. True to its reputation, the couple of minute's drive on Banerghata Road proved a lot more than that with heavy traffic on Saturday night. Infact it was a big night at IIM(B) otherwise as well as there fest is going on. Using my contact, and showing adequate at outrage at the poor security guard manning the side gate for trying to stop a Professor. ... (my act of outrage actually provoked a stifled laughter from my colleague) I reached the badminton court and clicked away many a photographs and a few short videos. Obviously, now I feel to bashful to show it around to my colleagues ...

News Wrap

Here’s a quick wrap-up of some of the more interesting happenings in the recent past. The Chinese New Year is the Year of the Rat and Malaysian women developed a taste in a particular type of linen. "Malaysian Chinese women are snapping up red panties with mouse motifs for good luck as they prepare to usher in the Year of the Rat, a news report said on Sunday." Read full report . First things first, what’s with the Chinese new years……last year they had the year of the Pig, this year the year of the Rat!!! Are there no better animals? I mean a pig in any language would serve as a fairly all embracing abusive word, and rat….that certainly cannot be flattery whether you are a Chinese or an English man. Should we not expect a year of the Tiger or at least Dragon!! Ofcourse with my usual objectvity and broad-mindedness, I find nothing worng in Ganesha’s vahana (consort) ….now is that a rat or a mouse? And let’s move on to these Malaysian women. A mouse motif on your inner-ware?...
