These guys, I love.

I love the Shiv Sena. These guys just rock. Look at all the things they hate…or have hated at different points of time.

They started by hating Gujratis and Marwaris who drove Bombay’s commerce. Soon, their able supremo turned his eyes to the South Indians with lyrical slogans like "lungi hatao pungi bajao"

Infact they hated all non-Maharashtrians, and slowly took up various communities in turn….they hated Bangaldeshis, which of-course in their well-informed mind was the same as hating Bengalis so they started a campaign of kicking Bengalis out of Bombay (apologies, Mumbai).

Then they started hating all anti-nationals, which in their rational minds meant all Muslims. Of course, they also hated the Christians, why? Well not because they were anti-national, but because they were not Hindus.

So do they love Hindus? Well yes, certainly they do, if that Hindu is nationalistic, hates Muslims, is a Maharashtrian, is prepared to dig up the cricket pitch when Pakistan is scheduled to play on it, does not celebrate Valentine’s day, does not support Raj Thackerey and the latest, hates and wants to shut down orkut.com. See how they keep with the times.

The rationale they bring in their arguments is just breathtaking, sample this

“Asked what cybercafe owners could do, Panse retorts, "You see, if X person is running a hotel and Y person brings a prostitute to that hotel, don't you think it is the responsibility of X to stop this immoral act? In the same way, we feel cybercafes should be responsible and ban Orkut. After all, we are Indians and we should not allow sites that are against our country to run."

The Sena leader wears dark glasses and saffron robes and sits on a thrown and admires Hitler, how cool is that? Had I given the same description without this context you would think I was describing a Bollywood baddie.
If you objectively judge between love and hate, love is mostly fake or in other words when people say they love something or somebody they are mostly:-
1. Lying
2. Using the word loosely without really meaning it.
3. Have just a habit of saying that.
Also a show of love can be faked, but a show of hatred is mostly genuine and rarely faked. Further while you can actually love a lot of things at the same time (your Dog, your car, your parents, Kiera Knightly) it is difficult to hate a lot of things at the same time (I mean I can understand your boss and your mother-in-law, but that’s about it).

The Sena’s capability to hate their fellow men is genuine and refreshing in the sheer novelty of reasons they come up with to sustain, perpetuate and multiply this hatred (I almost forgot the pretentious M F Hussein’s paintings).

And that is why I love the Sena, I love them because they are not fake.
In a country that tries to parade a culture of love and brotherhood (what crap!!), the Sena is the only mainstream political party that has shown this amazing capability of hating so many things at different points of time and also at the same time.It is however an altogether different matter that most of the party members should be locked up in solitary confinement.

  1. And we thought life was without anymore excitement!! C'mon we don't need people like you to instill some sense into stoneheads like us...all you end up transmitting to humanity is the urgent message that you are one of those wackos without a job :))

Maybe all this is for the good cause of projecting "sena-country" as a tourist destination where tourists would deliberately stop for some good old fashioned "Indian Culture" other than "bada-pao", before they can get a taste of the "fake India" elsewhere in the country. I am feverently hoping that someday our highest domestic priority will be: "love thy sena"...I am sure you are too!!

  2. @ Louise - "Love thy Sena"....man would the venerable Balasaheb love it!!!! How do you come up with terms anyway.

    I am a wacko.
    I am without a job.

    You are good man, that's 2 out of 2. I mean , that's like...100%???

  3. I guess the sena are the better ones amongst the indian politicians. As comrade has astutely pointed out that they delve into so many colourful matters like mandira bedi's thongs to shilpa shetty's cheeks rather than one of those mayawati or mamta banerjee. Down with those repulsive looking politicians who just make money for themselves.

  4. Beauty and Hatred!!!.....Now, that's, what I call, a spanking new frontier!!...As the Comrade would have said, it's time to do away with the sanctimoniousness called "secular" politics and get that "insular" policy going...let's stop succumbing to antiquated memories of the past...let's breathe-in some "beauty"...they can steal my money, but then I get to love the hate they generate.

That's something everyone should look forward to in these "adulterated" times!!

The wrong message:- “Police identified the arrested as Venkatesa Prasad (25), a native of Perambalur, who is pursuing a master's course in business administration.” ”Prasad was nabbed after the police spotted a media advertisement placed by Amir and Prasad to get clients when they shifted base from Mannady to Triplicane recently. They had released an advertisement that they are offering massage to customers, especially women.” Read full report. So often you find the media going gaga about the smart MBA types coming up with innovative business ideas. Can one get any more innovative than this? The young Venkatesa Prasad , bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, hit upon this brilliant idea. He decides to get paid for stuff that most of his fellow male students would be ready to pay for…massaging women. If you read the full report (no pictures alas), you’ll find that they actually started small and became popular by work of mouth sorry, make that word of mouth . As with any start-up th...

New law of life

I have arrived at my new law of life . This is the longest break between two subsequent posts that I have had since I started this blog. Last week I told myself…I better write a post this week since I have made an unwritten rule that I shall be making one post a week. But hang on, I write blogs because its fun , but then when I start trying to live up to rules it suddenly makes it seem like a job . Ok, I know it is remotely possible there may be a couple of more who read this blog beside me (certainly not more than that)… and I can flatter myself into thinking that they will be, well disappointed! Hey come of it…they’ll survive! So I have now not written for two whole weeks. I am writing now because…well because I want to. Not because I feel I should. In other words, if I do not write now, it will seem like my job is to not write posts to my blog. So the rule going forward is, if you already have a job, stop doing everything else that feels like a job . (I am assuming you need that on...

Here’s a quick wrap-up of some of the more interesting happenings in the recent past. The Chinese New Year is the Year of the Rat and Malaysian women developed a taste in a particular type of linen. "Malaysian Chinese women are snapping up red panties with mouse motifs for good luck as they prepare to usher in the Year of the Rat, a news report said on Sunday." Read full report . First things first, what’s with the Chinese new years……last year they had the year of the Pig, this year the year of the Rat!!! Are there no better animals? I mean a pig in any language would serve as a fairly all embracing abusive word, and rat….that certainly cannot be flattery whether you are a Chinese or an English man. Should we not expect a year of the Tiger or at least Dragon!! Ofcourse with my usual objectvity and broad-mindedness, I find nothing worng in Ganesha’s vahana (consort) ….now is that a rat or a mouse? And let’s move on to these Malaysian women. A mouse motif on your inner-ware?...
